Movies Reviewed

Part of having a family with young kids is the difficulty of getting out and about in activities at night that are family orientated. Thankfully nearby we have a drive in movie theater which runs two large screens with four movies. We watched Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

People were raving about Harry Potter's first kiss, in reality it is a small part of the movie. Perhaps the highlight is a serious battle between the dark lord and the head of hogwarts with some serious special effects going on.

Enjoyable although the film always seems to be done in very low light conditions, probably to create a dark mood - but its over done and makes some scenes difficult to follow.

As for the story Harry is once again on the outer and a almost Nazi teacher takes over the school - will definitely appeal to rebellious teenagers out there - themes of fighting against the system etc. On the whole fits in nicely with the other films but would not stand alone. Unless you've watched the three previous films you would be wasting your time watching this one by itself.

Transformers will appeal to those who use to watch the cartoons, however for someone like me who wasn't into the cartoons the storyline seemed lamed, the special effects on the other hand were amazing and are really the only reason to watch the film and the young actress is easy on the eyes with a nice flat stomach. However I wouldn't recommend the film to serious people. This film is a fantasy play action adventure film, nothing more.

That's my blog for today.
